Artist Statement

The artworks on this vehicle have been proudly created by Marsden State High School students with support from Multotec

Artists:  Leah Burns, Kieu-Vy Duong, Chloe Hoang and Malina Dupuy

This design was created by Marsden State High School students to celebrate the unique plants and animals of Logan. Each part of the artwork is inspired by the flora and fauna we see in our local environment — from birds in backyard trees, to bats roosting above, to reptiles that live among native flowers. Students observed these details carefully and then expressed them through their own artistic styles. Some chose realistic techniques, capturing feathers and textures in fine detail, while others worked in bold, graphic ways, focusing on shape, line, and pattern. Together, these different approaches show the diversity not only of Logan's wildlife but also of the students themselves. The bright, playful energy of the design reflects their pride in the natural world around them. This project is a celebration of both Logan's environment and the creativity of young people who bring fresh eyes to their community.

Project lead and facilitated by teachers Sophienne Stewart and Thomas Hanover from our Creative Arts Department.
