The department has ensured that most software the students will need will be freely available to them. However, stores are not aware of this and will try to sell you the same products. Software that is available free of charge includes:
- Anti – virus products - free anti-virus products available will work fine if kept up-to-date (Built in Windows 10 Defender)
- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Microsoft Office 365 (Free to Staff and Students)
Microsoft Student Advantage allows students with a BYOD to install Microsoft Office on up to 5 of their BYODs. Download your copy of Microsoft Office. You need to sign into this page with your school email address and password.
OneDrive for Business is an integral part of Microsoft Office 365 and provides a place in the cloud for you to store, share and sync your work files.
OneDrive for Business provides users with:
- A OneDrive for Business library with 1 terabytes of storage
- An expanded suite of Office Online web applications

Autodesk
Download Autodesk Student Edition Direct. Install programs required for Graphics and other ITD subjects. Remember you must have a Windows OS for these free software packages to work properly. Talk to your teacher for more information if required.
Elearn - Blackboard Online Classroom
Elearn can be accessed from home by visiting http://elearn.eq.edu.au students can also install the BlackBoard Mobile app and use the search term "DETE" to find the Department of Education Queensland Learning Place code once the app has been installed. Students use their normal school login username and password.
