About the program
We take pride in delivering Queensland's leading strength and conditioning program among state high schools. Our program is built on the expertise of our staff, state-of-the art facilities, and effective program implementation. Our programs have been written and are implemented by our Strength and Conditioning staff, Mr Jacob Stains (Level 2 ASCA, Bch Spt Ex Sci), Mr Vince Mellars (Level 1 ASCA), Mr Haydon Bishop (Level 1 ASCA) in conjunction with our affiliate partner pathways clubs Strength and Conditioning Staff (Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos, Wynnum Wolves, QAS).

The program is designed to provide differentiation and rigor across all stages of physical learning. What is seen in the template is an open-ended program that allows every student to have the opportunity to excel individually rather than to be locked to a program based on the mean of their team. Having the program in this format provides self-driven learning and improvement to be exhibited in every session. This environment allows individual students to have control on their journey towards movement mastery and will lead to improvement of performance in their chosen sporting discipline. After our athletes progress through their training booklets during stage 1, 2 and 3 they then move onto our opens sport specific programming which is completed through our partner Athlete Management System – Lumin (https://luminsports.com/).
How the program works
Within the gym we have four main movements which we use to guide our learning and progression of our athletes. Within their training booklets, athletes will be guided by their level of ability and competency based off these four movements. The movements are broken up further into horizontal and vertical (upper body) and unilateral (single leg) and bilateral (double leg) for lower body. Once a term, our athletes get tested. They are tested on these main movements to determine their level of ability and exercise prescription for the next block. Each main movement has two technical demonstration criteria and one performance based criteria that the athlete needs to deem competent in prior to progressing to the next stage of that movement.

Program Collaborations
In 2025, we are excited to announce a partnership agreement with Motion Health Rehab and Performance to assist our Sport Excellence students with their rehabilitation and management of their injuries. Please see below the support available and in action:
- Work in collaboration with our Motion Health team to provide superior “Return to Play" practices
- Exercise prescription
- Conducting warm ups / cool downs
- Biomechanical assessment/analysis for the purpose of exercise prescription
- Monitor client exercise session
- Strength and conditioning for a team or individual
- Testing Data collection and analysis

Further to this we have an ongoing partnership with Queensland University of Technology who send their Clinical Exercise Science students out for placement to give more individualised support for injured athletes.
