There are about 30 School Based Police
Officers throughout the State and between us we cover approximately 50 state
high schools. Our main role is to establish positive relationships between students
and police. We contribute to establishing a safe and supportive learning
environment for students; conduct crime prevention activities within school;
investigate crime activities within school and the school community; provide a
police resource in school; delivering lectures and providing information on
law, police duties and other related topics which support the school
curriculum; and participate in student activities such as excursions and camps.
Hours of duty
Generally hours are Monday to Friday
8am-4pm. I begin and end every shift at Logan Central Station so I endeavour to
be at Marsden State High from 8.30am until approximately 2.30pm.
To make an appointment
If you are a student, you can come and
see me during your morning tea and lunch breaks. If it is an urgent matter, you
can attend my office at any time to discuss the issue.
If you are a parent/caregiver and wish
to see me in relation to your student, please call Marsden State High School on
3299 0555 to make an appointment or leave a message and I will contact you to
make arrangements as soon as I can.
Outside of school hours, if you are
unable to handle a situation, call the local police or, in an emergency, call
A telephone hotline for information
about any criminal activity. You the caller need not give your name and are
known only by a code number. Remaining anonymous allows you to overcome any
fear of involvement or retaliation. Your call is not recorded or taped. Only
you know who gave information – you are not identified in any way. If an arrest
follows, you may be eligible to claim a reward of up to $1000. Even when
collecting a reward you remain anonymous! Rewards are paid for from the
monies raised from the general and business communities.

- Ensure your screen name does not reveal
personal information about you.
- Review your online profile. Predators can use
this personal information to find you.
- Only allow your friends to view your personal
blog and profile.
- Never send your picture to someone you don’t
- Don’t accept invitations to view webcams from
unknown internet users.
- Never arrange face-2-face meetings with people
- Understand predators ask personal questions
and attempt to become friends quickly.
- Time chatting online to a person does not
equal trust or knowing the person.
Everyone enjoys going to or hosting a
