The Arts Excellence Program

Marsden State High School is well known within the community for its highly talented Performing and Creative Arts students.  The Arts Department offers subjects in Music, Dance, Drama, Media and Visual Art to students from Year 7 – 12.  Alongside the curriculum runs our comprehensive extra-curricular program which is dedicated to excellence and designed to provide additional enriching activities for students while developing confidence, positive self-image, self-awareness, empathy and a sense of belonging to the Arts.  Students are able to select from activities including:

We pride ourselves on Excellence and provide opportunities for talented students to refine and extend their skills through our excellence Programs.
The Visual Art Excellence Program is offered to senior students who have been identified and invited to join the excellence class for Year 11 and 12.  Students in the Visual Art Excellence Program complete a Certificate III in Visual Arts, giving them the competitive edge they need to gain placement in a tertiary Visual Art program.
