General Information

Chess Club

All students and teachers are welcome to join Chess Club, first break every Thursday.


Homework Help

The library is open until 4.30pm every Wednesday for students:

· Teacher available to assist students with homework and research.

· Computers available.

· How to find & use resources - text & digital.

· How to organise and present information.

· How to write bibliography/references.

· Plagiarism & copyright awareness.

· Revising & editing work.

· What is available at your local & state library?

· Choosing good books to read.


Library Policies

Aim

The aim of the school library is to provide students with opportunities to find and use a range of information and recreational reading resources – whether from books or digital resources. Through information literacy, the students will learn the processes of: defining, locating, selecting, organising, presenting and evaluating information.

· Students must bring student ID card or planner with timetable to take out books and resources.

· Do not give library items to other students – each student needs to take items into their own name by providing student ID.

Clearance Forms

Students are responsible for all resources taken from the school library and bookroom. For Clearance Forms to be completed and stamped, all items must be returned at the end of each school year.


Opening Hours

· 8am—3 pm Mon to Fri (except Wednesday)

· 8am-4.30 pm Wednesday

Students are welcome to use the Library at school breaks. Computers are available—please bring task sheet.

· Before School—8.00-8.30 am

· First Break—all school

· Second Break—Seniors only

· Homework Help—every Wednesday after school (2.45-4.30 pm)


Year 12 Club

The courtyard area has a pool table, microwave and fridge; this is available for Year 12s to use at break times. Please see Mrs Birrell for more information on how to join Year 12 Club.
